Vintage Waterman pens used 3 methods of filling,

  1.  Safety pens from 1910 to 1920s,
  2. Eye dropper which was the simplest form of filling a pen, from 1900 - 1920s
  3. Lever filler from the 1920s to the 1950s
  4. There after Waterman introduced the converter/ cartridge fillers.
